"Michele Celeste's OBEAH, performed by a mainly black cast which includes the formidable Carmen  Munroe, is probably the first play to link the 1981 Brixton riots with tribal magic and what are perceived as the last vestiges of slavery.  It is a powerful piece, mixing realism and symbolism in a way that made me think sometimes of O'Casey."
